From Dawn till Down - Yilan

yilan train station w/ adam, stacey, aleyda
yilan train station
It was winter back then. I traveled to Yilan after finishing my first semester with four friends. It took about 3 hours to go there by train from Neili. I woke up so early to catch the morning train. So so early, even the sun had not risen yet.  We arrived there and walked nearby the train station. Yilan train station is quite different with other train stations I've been before. A cute giraffe statue will welcome everyone who go here.

Morning trip made us did  have no time to grab our breakfast. We visited a famous Ramen Shop which took around 15 minutes walking from the train station. The noodles is very tender and the soup is delicious, fit in winter days. The restaurant is not big but it feels homey. The owner is very friendly. More over, the price is not expensive, around NT150.

Had our belly full, we walked to our first destination (turn right from the station and walk 5 mins). It was Jimi Square. Jimi characters' action figure is popping into life in the form of life sized comic characters. I am basically a comic lover and I think that this Jimi is charming :)

Alongside the street around train station, you can find some good spot for taking photos lol. The street reminding us of the old time of Taiwan.

Continuing our trip, we took a train and bus to one of Yilan's famous place, Lanyang Museum. This Museum has a geometric structures with glasses covering its skin. It is surrounded by mountains. The scenery itself had been outstanding. There are many Taiwan's aboriginal and old time stories inside the museum. For entering this building, we need to pay the entrance fee. The figures, statues, ancient things are well placed as well as the lightning and the path.

Travelling all days made us hungry. Taiwan is all about night market. We decided to go to a night market to take some bites. The foods' price is the same as in other night market. I had a peanut and ice cream, some fried skewers, and not forgetting the famous oyster egg.
oyster egg!!
It was around 6 and we decided to go back as we remembered that our journey to Neili took a long time. It was very cold that day, especially at night hahahha.

Thank you for Adam, Derek, Stacey, and Aleyda for having a great journey with me to Yilan ^^ Without you this journey is not as this fun!
